A diesel so tiny that he’s BARELY bigger than Tracy, Ralph is the engine in charge of the Bluthsburg Steelworks whenever Sarah Steele’s off duty. Ralph often enjoys taking advantage of this, and is overall a “bossy buffers” to the other teammates. However, his size means he can’t pull much and is often truly relegated to slag tipping work and shunting around the works. Ralph cares for his friends in spite of his rough attitude, but he just needs to learn to lighten up and not take things outside the yard so seriously!
A laid-back, rough-and-tough tank engine, Phoebe is the more relaxed of the two engines at the Steelworks. She’s not the biggest of the tank engines on the railway, but she’s strong enough to pull long trains to wherever steel is needed. She goes through life laidback and tough, and enjoys riling up her friend and boss to keep him in check. She’s an immovable force, hardly phased by anything with all the mayhem and troublemakers she’s witnessed, making her a little harder to prank than the other engines on the railway!
Rishaira is the definition of a workhorse. Whether it's lifting engines out of a ditch, ploughing the tracks, or smashing through a ballast slide, Rishaira is headstrong in more ways than one! She’s a dependable and energetic engine to rely on, but her insistence on helping others before herself can often lead her into trouble, sometimes neglecting her own needs.
A custom-designed, scratch-built steam crane, Grace is THE biggest piece of equipment on the whole railway. Quiet and shy, Grace is friendly and eager to work, but often lacks the confidence of the other engines to get work done. She’s a little skittish and a little bit clumsy at times, but it can help balance her and her partner Rishaira out like apple pie and ice cream!
The team’s express engine, Scott is a tall and lanky tank engine who keeps high spirits on his important journeys from wharf to resort to town! While he’s a “by the numbers” engine and is always sticking to the timetables, he sometimes lets time slip a bit too much for late passengers, and is known to occasionally lend himself to a broken part or two.
Trench is single handedly the SMALLEST digger on the entirety of Crotoonia! Owned by the railway for maintenance and construction, Trench often works with Rishaira and Grace on jobs just about anywhere! He tends to push himself too hard when helping others, as this tiny machine is ready to put every volt of electricity into his motors to get a job done or help a friend!
The oldest locomotive on the team, Big Old Rusty is among the coveted “Dream Haulers”, who thunder along the line with important deliveries and freight trains all across the country and beyond. Rusty knows more about the tracks than anybody on the team, and is always willing to let an engine put their wheels up by taking their loads for them if need be. He acts as a mentor to young Tracy, who’s still learning the tracks.
Shelbert is a medium-sized Dream Hauler who takes passengers and freight. He’s a very friendly and very excitable engine, but sometimes looks on the downside of things in a rougher situation. He can sometimes stress when he really shouldn’t, which can be a problem for not only other engines, but his caboose Patrick as well.
A small red caboose, Patrick is there to help the trains from behind. Patrick feels like he’s often forgotten by the other engines, and craves a bit of the spotlight. Because of this, he’s a little more sarcastic and dry compared to the other Dream Fleeters. But he’s a good friend through and through, even if he is guaranteed the first to panic in an emergency.
A small orange tender engine, Tootle is young, a bit impatient, and has a tendency to go off track on the job! Being a younger engine, Tootle likes to get things done fast and wants to keep things moving...while also tending to get a little distracted, sometimes! Tootle often finds himself working with a bit of “get up and go” and an adventurous spirit with the help of Katy!
Katy is Tootle’s trusty little caboose, who tags along for his important work. She’s like a big sister to the impatient and insecure Tootle, keeping him on track and on the line. While she is more mature than Tootle, she sometimes finds herself lost in her own personal desires and dreams. With each one keeping track of the other, they balance out like peas in a pod!
A sleek streamlined steam engine, Montana is one of the biggest of the Fantasyland Fleet, and is one of Crotoonia’s most dependent on when it comes to express trains! Running between Pinewood Island and Celgreb City Central, he maintains high alert and high safety procedures on his travels. His personal motto to others is “Bewaaaaaare! Take caaaaaaaaare!”
A small Welsh tank engine, Ivor likes doing things that people like to do, making tea with water from his boiler, and being with his many friends in the choir. He’s a simple kind of engine, and that’s just the way Ivor likes things. That said, he can be wilful and disobedient at times. He doesn't like timetables and, ironically for a tank engine, hates shunting. He is seldom seen without his driver, Jones the Steam.
A bulky, super strong tender engine, Melissa LOVES to race! She’s hopelessly addicted to the fun and excitement a competition can bring, especially if it challenges her pride in her work! This can leave his headstrong freight engine a little bullheaded, which can get her into alot of trouble when she least expects it! Melissa has the strength of a bull and can fight like a bull!
The angel on Melissa’s lamp iron, “strong-to-the-finish” T.J. also loves to race (after all, they raced against each other way back when!), but is much more responsible and calculated when it comes to it. He firmly keeps to working smarter and planning out the best way to get a job done, rather than race into it like Melissa. He does have a bit of a jokey streak, surprisingly!
A bulky, bossy shunting engine, Livi is notorious for her strict attitude and ridiculously high standards for her yard in McCrackenton. She only feels she should take IMPORTANT cargo, and sillier, smaller trains are things she considers weak. She’s a little bit of a hypocrite, as truly important trains can get ignored on her radar. It’s her selfishness and ego that causes BIG trouble.
Chugs, like Tillie and Tracy, is a determined little engine, though he does tend to need a little more help than he likes to think....especially if he's got a heavy load to take uphill! As the Mail Engine for the villages along the Narrow Gauge railway, he does tend to stay up later, even for the usual Mail Company engines, which leads him to being a rather tired engine in the morning! But after a quick drink and refill of coal, Chugs will always be ready and steaming to help.
A laidback, rockin’ - rollin’ engine who’s seen and done it all, Brucie is Crotoonia’s own trucker on rails. This big, boisterous diesel has travelled to just about every big rail yard you can think of in North America and he knows it. His work takes him through the night, shipping special goods and deliveries anywhere they’re needed. Brucie can get a bit on a high iron horse with his stories of travels and jobs (which makes him hard to get along with at times), but he loves the work he does and loves to entertain whoever’s near.
Mtambo is a double decker chugger who lives and works at the Swahilli Waterpark Resort. His job is to take holiday makers down from Kahlville to the resort for people to visit, as well as giving tours around it from the Nature Reserve to the outdoor waterpark. He knows a lot about animals thanks to travelling the world, along with a lot of exciting stories to tell. He’s outraced jaguars, come nose to nose with rhinos, been guided out of deserts by camels, and even escaped reptilian pirates through old mines! This wise chugger may be calm, but he’s certainly adventurous!
A forklift chugger with a penchant for pranks, Cormac is the “lift-n-loader” at Celgreb City Depot alongside Rosie and Old Puffer Pete. He enjoys nothing more than fun, with a love for tricks and practical jokes on his other engines, though he does remain a hard worker when the time comes! When freight’s on the move, he’ll shift it faster than you can expect!
Based on the turntable of the Dream Fleet Rail Company yards, Tower oversees all the activity in the depot where her trains rush in and out. Tower is gentle with her team, but will not hesitate to say if anyone is out of line and will get frustrated with problems or annoyances that may cause chaos for her. But she’s a tower of her word and an efficient leader through and through.
A cleaner-turned-railway company manager, Mrs. Ella manages The Fantasyland and Fairytale Rail Traction Company Limited, one of the biggest locomotive fleets in Crotoonia! Mrs. Ella sometimes takes holidays to explore the world, but she’s also typically the most under control of the Crotoonian staff! Her place on the railway is rightfully earned with her ability to manage a difficult situation, though some challenge her more than others.
Among a long line of feathered figures leading the railways, Sir Allen Featherington oversees the entire Crotoonian Rail Networks to ensure all is under control. Of course, he doesn’t always have things under control in some situations (and can be a huge goof at times), but he’s stern when needed to be and gentle when needed to be. That said, he’s a little less easy to take seriously when you consider he’s a duck that loves bringing Hawaiian shirts to vacations.
